Bengt Johansson, Owner of Viking Independent, immigrated with his family
(wife and 2 children) from Sweden in 1973 to the USA. In 1984, he became
a US citizen.
Bengt and Monica opened the business in April of 1980 and after a while the business took off. Today we have 5 technicians, a service advisor, service manager, and an office staff. Bengt's hobby is dirt bike riding. He races every Saturday and tries to get a practice run in on Thursday mornings. He is part of the (the magazine) Motorcycle Action's test group.

Click on any picture for a larger image. One of the roles that Bengt enjoys the most as a business person, is dealing with customers. After all these years in the USA, you can't help but feel that touch of "Swedish Hospitality", whenever you talk to him. When it comes to Swedish cars, he is a walking encyclopedia. That is why, in spite of having one of the best teams any shop has ever assembled, they always feel at ease consulting with him.
